Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born March 10, 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran soon exited the company. Corcoran is among ABC's first Shark Tank investors. Since her inception, she has been in every seasons of Shark Tank. Corcoran has signed 53 deals in February of 2020. Her biggest deal was her $350,000 investment in Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence was her mother. She was an excellent homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was a bouncing between jobs throughout Corcoran's early years. At times, the family depended on food delivery for free from a friendly local grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father as a drunkard who sometimes treated her mother with disrespect and disrespect, especially when having consumed alcohol. Corcoran was a struggling student throughout school. Corcoran later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran went to the local Catholic elementary school before beginning high school at St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite failing several courses during her first year.
